If you have a gassy or colicky baby seeing a $5 price tag on a baby bottle would make you laugh and wonder how many people out there are getting scammed.

If you have had a gassy or colicky baby you would spend $15 dollars per bottle if its claims were validated.

Dr. Browns Natural Flow bottles are not the most affordable option but they are worth spending a few extra dollars for a bottle that reduces the amount of air baby sucks in through her bottle which means less gas and a more comfortable baby.

The Magic Of Dr. Brown's Bottles: The Internal Vent

The internal vent is a two piece system that works together to allow air into the bottle while baby is still drinking by bypassing the milk and travelling through a plastic clear tub back into the bottom of the bottle. A vacuum effect is not create as it is with most bottles because of this and no more nipple collapse because there is always air inside the bottle.

I was first introduced to Dr. Browns bottles when I was working as an infant teacher in a daycare. Parents were required to bring in everything their child would need for feeding so I saw the differenece in usabilty of baby products first hand when feeding the babies.

I could clearly see that the Dr. Brown's bottles did not perform the same as the others. Instead of a rush of air bubbles shooting into the bottle through the milk when the baby let go when drinking, Dr. Brown's had continuous air flow going into the bottle bypassing the milk entirely through an internal vent system

Cleaning

The Dr. Brown's Natural Flow bottle system requires a bit of additional work at cleaning time. There are additional pieces that will need attention. The bottle itself, the 2 piece plastic internal vent, the nipple, lid, and the cover and plastic poker chip like piece to keep from spilling in travel. Whew all that for a little less gas.

For the internal vent a cleaning brush is included to assist with cleaning. I would recommend purchasing 2 bottle dishwasher basket cages to help hold everything together. then just rinse the pieces well, and stick in the cage in the dishwasher.

Health Benifits

The patented, innovative design of the Dr. Brown's Natural Flow® provides the following health benefits:

  • Unique internal vent eliminates the vacuum and air bubbles, to help reduce colic, spit-up, burping and gas
  • By eliminating the negative pressure, it can help reduce build up of fluid in baby's ear
  • Positive-pressure design mimics breastfeeding and is ideal for breast milk and formula alike

Built Tough

Dr. Brown's Natural Flow bottles will hold up tough. Your baby will grow out of them before you would have to buy new ones. However, like with all bottles nipples occasionally need to be replaced. Dr. Brown's Natural Flow Bottles have different nipple options for both infant age and flow preference.
